Update: 04/06/2020

As the world continues to face the challenges of the pandemic and with significant travel restrictions still in place in many regions, today MSC Cruises announced that it will further extend the temporary fleet-wide halt of its cruise operation through to 31 July 2020.

UK & Irish guests affected by the cancelled cruises will receive a Future Cruise Credit (FCC) for 125% of their cruise value which can be used on any ship, for any itinerary — through to the end of 2021. All Future Cruise Credits will be issued automatically and guests will be able to redeem their FCC voucher starting from June 21 and reschedule their cruise to a time that suits them. For guests who do not wish to accept the Future Cruise Credit are entitled to apply for a refund equal to the original amount of the cruise fare paid only and the additional 25% will not be included. For full details on redeeming your FCC please see the voucher, contact your travel agent.

For all guests who are currently booked on cruises between 1 August and 31 October 2020 their bookings will be covered under an extension of the Company’s Flexible Cruise Programme allowing guests to reschedule their cruise to a future departure date through to 31 December 2021 up to 48-hours prior to the original cruise departure or, for Fly&Cruise packages, up to 96-hours prior to the flight departure.

Update: 01/04/2020

As you know, we’re continuing to closely monitor the COVID-19 global public health emergency and following the guidance of governments around the world as they further strengthen public health and wellbeing measures to protect local populations and limit the further spread of the virus.

After careful evaluation of the current environment – and always putting the health and wellbeing of our guests and crew first – we’ve decided to extend the suspension of our cruises fleetwide through to 29 May 2020.

We have updated our compensation policy that will be valid for ALL cancelled sailings from March 10 through to May 29.

125% Future Cruise Credit
All guests impacted by cancelled sailings, due to the temporary suspension of our cruises fleetwide, will be offered a Future Cruise Credit for 125% of the original cruise fare paid. The Future Cruise Credit can be used on any sailing departing on or before December 31, 2021. For your clients who do not use the 125% Future Cruise Credit by December 31, 2021, we will provide a full refund of the original cruise fare paid.

14 MARCH 2020

Due the continued Covid-19 crisis development in many of the countries where we operate, the restrictions imposed by various government and port authorities, and the safety measures we put in place since January, we are forced to adjust or cancel some of our itineraries.

These decisions reflect the situation as it continuously evolves. We are in contact with governments, health authorities and local authorities to monitor any news and we will keep adjusting our operations as often as required to protect the health of our guests and crew members. It’s worth noting however that as of today most of our fleet continues to operate as planned, and we have had no Covid-19 case on our ships.

In the Emirates due to a limitation on passenger’s movement imposed by the local authorities we are cancelling the cruises of MSC Bellissima and MSC Lirica starting from March 14, including the Grand Voyages of MSC Bellissima on March 21 and that of MSC Lirica on April 18

In the Mediterranean due to the limitation of personal movements and the port closure requested respectively by the Italian and the Spanish governments, we are cancelling the cruises of MSC Grandiosa from March 14 to March 28, and the cruises of MSC Opera from March 10 to April 21.

In the USA as of March 14 we are suspending cruises out of Miami for MSC Seaside, MSC Meraviglia and MSC Armonia. We will resume normal operations in Miami as of April 30

In the Antilles due to the restrictions in Martinique we are cancelling the cruises of MSC Preziosa from March 14 to March 28. All these changes as well as smaller ones are summarized in the table below. Please note we may have to do further adjustments as the situation evolves.

For the cruises we are forced to cancel we will offer to our guests a voucher equal to the value of the cancelled cruise, to be used for any future sailing departing before the end of 2021 plus an on board credit of €100 per cabin for cancelled cruises up to 6 nights and €200 for cruises of 7 nights or longer. Solely for the cancellation of MSC Bellissima Grand Voyage Dubai-Yokohama, and MSC Lirica Grand Voyage Dubai-Venice, we will offer and on board credit of € 400 per cabin. This credit is refundable, valid for any period of the year and can be combined with any existing promotion.

The cruise voucher is valid for sailings all year round and can be combined with any existing promotion. The on-board credit is refundable if unused during the voyage and can also be combined with any existing promotion.

We at MSC Cruises are committed to deliver great holiday experiences to our guests, and we are sorry that current circumstances force us to change some of our plans and possibly disrupt some of your dreams. We look forward to sail with you in calmer waters very soon, always with the safety of our guests and crew as our top priority.
