Princess Cays Benefits From Renovations

Monday 19th February 2018, 11:45am

Cruisers who are headed to Princess Cays will experience a freshly rejuvenated destination after renovation work has been completed.

The island, which is located in the Bahamas is owned by Princess Cruises who share it with Carnival Cruise Line, is a favourite port of call on Princess Cruises’ Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises.

Enhancements include new shore excursions, refurbished bar and shopping areas, landscape and infrastructure. New shore excursions include ‘Lagoon Clear-Bottom Kayaking’ which is a guided tour through the lagoons allowing guests to explore.

If cycling is more your scene another of the new excursions, the ‘Island Bicycle Adventure’ offers guests the chance to take a leisurely bike ride. This tour takes guests to some of Princess Cays’ most popular sites giving them the opportunity to discover the history and scenery of the location.

Plus the new ‘Stingray Beach Encounter’ allows guests to touch, hold and even feed live stingrays. Animal trainers also teach guests about the animals, giving interesting facts about their behaviour and much more.

The marina has also been expanded, and now includes a new channel and turning basin which will mean that larger tenders can be accommodated which will allow for smoother embarkation and disembarkation for guests.

Guests visiting the island will also benefit from improved shopping experiences, meaning they can purchase gifts and mementos and can even visit the new ‘pick-a-pearl’ section of the Bahama Treasure store.

Overall guest experience improvements have been made to Princess Cay too. The guest information booth now has a shaded waiting lounge area, giving greater comfort to passengers. Extensive landscaping of all guest areas, freshly painted structures and additional planters and palm trees have also improved the aesthetic appearance.

“For more than 25 years, Princess guests have lauded Princess Cays as one of their favorite spots on their Caribbean cruise,” said Jan Swartz, Princess Cruises president. “With new and improved island offerings and the addition of Medallion Net Wi-Fi ashore, guests enjoy a memorable beach experience and can easily share their adventures with friends and family back home or stream their favorite show or sports event while relaxing beachside.”
