Fred. Olsen Announce Three Ship Refurbishment

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced that they will refurbish three of their ships within the next five months, giving them refreshed public spaces as well as new venues as part of the fleet-wide revamp which began last year.

Braemar will be the first ship to receive a new image followed by Balmoral, both before Christmas, then finally Boudicca in March 2018. All three of the ships will go into dry dock in Hamburg, Germany, and each will be fitted out with numerous upgrades.

Managing Director of Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, Mike Rodwell, said: ‘We are very proud of our smaller, classic cruise ships and we recognise the importance of investing in ongoing upgrades to ensure that our guests can continue to enjoy them at their best.’

Braemar, which can carry up to 929 guests will sail from Southampton to Hamburg on November 23rd 2017, and will undertake a nine day dry dock. A new buffet area will be among the upgrades she will receive.

Fred. Olsen’s flagship, Balmoral will be next to be given a face lift, and will head into dry dock on December 10th 2017, once again for a nine day dry dock period. Exciting new upgrades will include new restaurants as well as a gelato bar on board.

Finally the third ship to be refurbished will be Boudicca, which is heading for more of an extensive dry dock of 13 days, on March 16th 2018. Once again a new dining area onboard will be among the upgrades as well as updating the existing public spaces onboard.
