Disney Cruise Line Orders Seventh Ship

Disney Cruise Line has announced that they are to add a seventh ship to their fleet, which is set to be delivered in 2022.

This announcement has come as a surprise, and this new ship will be delivered in 2022, in between two ships that were ordered last year for delivery in 2021 and 2023.

The seventh vessel will be identical to the two previously ordered ships, weighing in at 135,000 gross tons, the largest ever built for Disney Cruise Line. Each of the new ships is also set to have 1,250 guest staterooms.

Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, said: “We decided two ships wouldn’t be enough to hold all of the exciting new experiences we have been dreaming up to take family cruise vacations to a whole new level with immersive Disney storytelling, world-class family entertainment, and imaginative innovations that are fantastically fun and uniquely Disney,” Chapek said. “By the time all three new ships are sailing, we’ll have nearly doubled the size of our existing fleet.”

Whilst the new class of ships have yet to be named, Disney will reveal further details on features and itineraries in the coming months.
