A moment many of us have been waiting for has finally arrived… During a formal handover ceremony with the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, we officially welcomed Iona to the P&O Cruises fleet. As the first British cruise ship to be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), Iona is our greenest, largest and most innovative ship yet. And she has a host of surprises in store. With Iona’s luminous glass-roofed SkyDome, on-board gin distillery and whole world of dining and entertainment on board, we can hardly wait to share her with you. We now eagerly look forward to Iona’s new maiden season in Northern Europe and Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands…

THE QUAYS

Head to The Quays for informal dining options to suit every mood; ideal for morning breakfasts through to dinner. This multi-venue dining piazza offers an array of eateries, and is a lively hub for socialising over food and watching the world go by. There’s a fun street-food atmosphere, and outdoor dining is available too.

SINDHU

Showcasing a menu which is a triumph of perfectly balanced spices, delicate flavours and wonderful aromas, Sindhu has become a firm favourite with many. Dishes such as pan-roasted beef tenderloin and spiced mash vie for your attention, alongside ginger and mint tiger prawns and the signature dish – a trio of fragrant curries. So why not take a seat amidst the opulent decor and experience a treat for your senses?

THE GLASS HOUSE

Headed up by the irrepressible, award-winning wine expert and P&O Cruises Food Hero, Olly Smith, The Glass House is the perfect location for a light bite, lunchtime tipple, afternoon apéritif or a tastefully informal evening out. And if you’re looking to match your chosen wine with your food you’ve picked the perfect place, as you’ll find helpful pairing suggestions in the menu.

THE EPICUREAN

The Epicurean fuses classic dining elements with the best of modern British dining to create a sensuous menu, uniquely presented in a sophisticated and contemporary setting. The emphasis is on grand style and flawless service. The menu features dishes that are skilfully prepared table-side in a performance worthy of the West End, and, with time to thoroughly appreciate each course, you can relax and revel in The Epicurean’s special atmosphere.

THE BEACH HOUSE

Inspired by South American, Caribbean and Stateside cuisines, The Beach House menu offers hearty dishes and comfort-food favourites. Highlights include the steaks, ribs, grills and burgers, hanging kebabs and a range of sharing dishes. Save space for the decadent and delicious desserts too.

THE KEEL & COW

Breakfast, lunch, or dinner authentic gastropub fare is served at The Keel & Cow, with dishes such as black-pudding scotch eggs and a signature beef and stout burger. At night enjoy hearty dishes or select from a range of steaks from the dry-ageing fridge. With views over the Grand Atrium, out to sea, or even to the chefs at work in the open galley, it’s the ideal spot to enjoy delicious food, and real hand-pumped and craft ales.

THE OLIVE GROVE

With a strong focus on food provenance, it’s time to taste your way around the southern and eastern Mediterranean with authentic dishes and sharing platters at The Olive Grove. Mouthwatering aperitifs and a well-chosen list of regional wines complete the menu and add to the relaxed experience. The Olive Grove is the ideal venue for intimate dinners or a celebratory meal – with options to eat in the restaurant or in the conservatory area.

THE LIMELIGHT CLUB

Bringing you the finest food to tantalise your taste buds, and entertainment worthy of the world stage. Prepare for an evening of great conversation, convivial company and delicious dining at The Limelight Club. The surroundings are sumptuous and you can expect a lively and enjoyable evening in the company of some great performers that you won’t see anywhere else on the ship – all while you enjoy the delights of the modern European menu.

Afternoon Tea by Eric Lanlard

As you’d expect from the imagination of master pâtissier Eric Lanlard, there are some delicious surprises waiting to be plucked from each tempting cake stand. Prepare yourself to be tempted by treats such as savoury Porcini and pancetta éclairs, pistachio petit choux with red berries, marble swirls red velvet cake pops and orange blossom and bee pollen scones. Eric’s unique twist on this classic British institution elevates the humble afternoon tea into something utterly decadent.

Ripples

Find scoopfuls of holiday happiness at this family-friendly gelateria. Snowflake Luxury Gelato blends the best of British and Italian cultures in a range of artisan flavours. A traditional cone with your choice of toppings? A gelato afternoon tea, cookie or sundae? With so many treats, you’re sure to be back for more.

HEADLINERS THEATER

Our resident performance artists perform their exquisite talents by bringing us various styles of performances ranging from cabaret shows, Circus to Opera! Located on deck 7, the Star Show Lounge has vibrancy, luxury surroundings and joyful environment. The Show Lounge is designed to immerse you into the spectacle and transported you to a different world.

Brodies

This much-loved British pub boasts the ship’s largest range of British and international bottled beers, ciders and real ale. There’s a great selection on tap too, not to mention a well-stocked wine menu and tasty traditional British bar snacks such as pork scratchings, peanuts and crisps. By day, Brodie’s hosts quizzes and live sport, by night you’ll find live entertainment, karaoke and game shows.

The 710 Club

Atmospheric and low-lit, the club will serve up live music with an unmistakably vintage vibe, stylish cocktails and the most important ingredient of all; a little escapism, to ensure the good times continue long into the night.

Gary Barlow is bringing his vision and personality to The 710 Club, exclusively on Iona. Exclusively for adults, its stage will light up to the sounds of its talented resident band; a group guided by Gary. Yet his involvement runs far deeper; to choosing music for the club, guiding future performers and playlists and even shaping the interiors and signature cocktails.

Having performed at countless pubs and clubs at the start of his career, Gary loves to see up-and-coming talent catch that all-important break and this is exactly what The 710 Club is all about. The club will showcase a new guest performer every month, giving new talent the chance to shine, while the resident band will weave their own spell with numbers inspired by Gary’s life, loves and musical style, creating atmospheric sets that have been crafted for the true music lover.

Emerald Bar

Glamour, good times and glorious exploratory cocktails combine in this buzzing Grand Atrium jewel. Will it be an expertly crafted daiquiri, or a playful creation with a surprising twist? And get set for even more wow-factor moments as daring aerial artistswork their magic above.

Anderson’s Bar & Library

What could be better after a hard day’s relaxing than enjoying a quintessentially British G&T?

It’s time to make an occasion of enjoying your favourite tipple at Anderson’s, hosting our speciality gin menu, with unique gin flights and exceptional perfect serves. Plus, we’ve yet more desirable drinks to tantalise – so if you’re in the mood for something fizzy, fruity or more refined – you’re sure to find a drink that hits the spot.

Crows Nest

Savour glorious ocean views and signature timeless classic cocktails with a twist. By day, the mood is restful for reading and reveries. By night, things take a sophisticated turn –the live pianist, moody vocals and stylish late-lounge vibe making it a popular haunt for night owls.

OASIS SPA

Iona’s spa is a haven of transformative wellness with endless opportunities to enjoy the finely curated collection of authentic destination-inspired moments filled with exceptional service and unique experiences. Set out in a beautifully designed space that plays out harmoniously across decks 5 and 6, the aesthetic is understated and elegant. Beyond, ocean views soothe and inspire in equal measure. Thermal Suite

Explore heated loungers, a therapeutic sauna, sensory steam rooms and experiential showers. Other features include a hydrotherapy pool with massaging jets and air recliners.

  • Destination-inspired treatments – a range of traditional, local treatments and therapies that bring the destination to the spa, including the Nordic Soapstone Therapy and the Baltic Fire & Ice Massage
  • ELEMIS Superfood Pro-Radiance facial – energise and detoxify stressed, dull skin with a nutritional superfood boost. Leaves skin, plumper, radiant and lit up with good health.
  • Restorative Salt Stone Massage – an invigorating deeply restorative body massage that harnesses the beneficial properties of Himalayan pink salt stone
  • MLX QUARTZ BED (The Psammo Concept) – Psammotherapy (Hot Sand Therapy) was used in Ancient Egypt to treat a number of ailments and today this treatment is all about relaxation as warm sand quartz cocoons the body and replicates the benefits of a day spent at the beach.

THE RETREAT

The Retreat on Iona boasts a commanding spot on deck 18 above The Crow’s Nest. This signature feature is a quiet haven in which you can reconnect with nature, yourself or your loved ones – the epitome of calm where you can relax and enjoy the sights floating past. The paid-for outside space, which is exclusively for adults, boasts two infinity whirlpools with magnificent uninterrupted views, plus stylish day beds, hammocks, a bar, juice station and comfortable seating areas.

SERENITY POOL

While the children are blissfully occupied at The Reef, we’ve the adult equivalent – some quiet time at the Serenity Pool & Bar. Take a dip, order your favourite drink and relax! A quiet zone, the Serenity Pool and Bar offers a stylish pool and sunbathing area in which to relax during a day at sea. It has a distinct ‘South Beach’ feel with covered cabanas for shade and luxurious sun loungers around the pool.

OASIS SALON

Whether you’re looking for a spruce-up or a completely new look, use a sea day to treat yourself. Iona’s team of stylists, aestheticians and make-up specialists are ready to help you shine.
With services that include:
  • The Barber Shop – a stylish grooming club that offers a menu of traditional services, such as haircuts and deep cleansing shaves, and more adventurous skin and medi-spa treatments.
  • Kérastase treatments – to deliver the most advanced luxury hair treatments, Iona’s styling team use Kérastase services and products, courtesy of salon leaders L’Oréal. Among them are a speciality colour bar, a hair and scalp diagnostic and luxury haircare rituals and treatments
  • Blow-Out, Lash and Brow Bar – in this sociable space (a fleet innovation), come together to have your brows defined, your lashes extended and your hair styled to perfection with a sleek blow dry. It’s the perfect way to go glam for a Gala Evening.

The Reef

The Reef is our free on-board programme for 2-17 year olds, available on our family friendly ships. It is split into four distinct age groups, so that the needs and level of play in each group can be met and to ensure children have the chance to make friends of their own age. There’s a whole host of exciting activities available, all organised daily by our qualified and enthusiastic DBS –checked Reef Rangers. Splashers for ages 2- 4 Littles ones can enjoy soft play outdoor play areas and fun activities such as parties and creative play. Surfers for ages 5- 8 Children will want to keep going back to Surfers for imaginative play, soft play, outdoor play, table-top games and active games such as mini Olympics. Scubas for ages 9- 12 Fun times will be had at Scubas with music, games consoles, arts and crafts, game-shows, after-dark discos and karaoke. H20 for ages 13- 17 Teenagers can gather for computer games, discos, table tennis and, during the school holiday season activities such as sports coaching and talent shows.

Scene

Scene is a secret on-board hang-out for teens aged 13 to 17. Located on deck 6, it’s separated from the rest of the children’s club, giving teens a chance to have their own space and allowing them to dip in and out of planned events. Scene operates during high peak cruising season. In the low season, it becomes an entertainment space for adults.

We’re working with three leading chefs to bring incredible food experiences to your holiday. Our chefs are passionate about their nation’s cuisine, using local ingredients to bring authentic flavours to Iona.

Special Requirements

Any guest with a condition that may affect fitness to travel, or any other special need, is asked to provide full details by filling in the appropriate form at the time of booking, and may be asked to submit a doctor’s certificate. The Company can refuse the booking or the carriage of any guest who is deemed to be unfit for travel or whose condition may constitute a danger to themselves, the vessel, aircraft and/ or other Guest on the grounds of safety.
Any specific transport and/on lodging and/or assistance needs must be communicated at the time the reservation.
Our guests who are pregnant and have exceeded their 24th week are also not invited to sail. This is due to the lack of medical equipment needed to accommodate their needs.

Disabled Facilities

We offer accessible cabins for all our guests. We also have wheelchair availability, hearing and visual aids. Guests with hearing impairments can opt for TDD systems kits to be in their cabins. Guests with visual impairments are advised to travel with a Carer – we also allow healthy and travel-safe guide dogs on board.
We ask our guests with specific requirements to inform travel agents before booking so we can prepare accommodations.

Special Diets

Most special diets can be catered for on board if requested when booking your cruise. Kosher meals (pre-packaged) and Halal products (beef, lamb and poultry) are available if requested at least two months before departure. Pre-packaged gluten-free snacks, biscuits, croissants, sponge cakes and muffins are also available on board.

The Grand Atrium is the beating heart of Iona; a lively signature space that encapsulates the spirit of the ship. The architecturally impressive space sits on decks 6, 7 and 8 and boasts a contemporary design that brings in uninterrupted panoramic sea views and natural light.

As one of four primary entertainment spaces on board, the Grand Atrium offers lots to see and do around the clock. By day, it’s a place to meet, dine, relax, be entertained or simply watch the world go by; by night, it’s an immersive destination venue, balancing intimate spaces with larger social areas.
