Celebrity Cruises is ordering a fifth Edge-class ship for delivery in 2024.
Parent company Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd are said to have agreed a deal with French shipyard Chantiers de l’Atlantique for the new ship. With the success of Celebrity Edge which was launched late 2019 plus three other Edge-class ships already on order and due for delivery in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd, chairman and chief executive, Richard Fain has commented “Edge class made an immediate hit with Celebrity Cruises guests and is a state-of-the-art example of technical excellence and elegant design. We can’t wait to build the next one.” Whilst Celebrity Cruises president and chief executive, Lisa Lutoff-Perlo added “Celebrity Edge has delighted our guests and affirmed Celebrity Cruises as the leading modern luxury brand. Chantiers de l’Atlantique has been a brilliant partner and we look forward to creating another amazing vessel with them”.
Celebrity’s fifth Edge-class ship is scheduled to be delivered in Autumn 2024.
