Adventure Of The Seas Used For Humanitarian Sailing

As part of the continued effort to help evacuees and people stranded by Hurricane Maria, Royal Caribbean International has dedicated it’s cruise ship, Adventure of the Seas for a humanitarian sailing.

Royal Caribbean cancelled the 30th September sailing of Adventure of the Seas, and the 3,114 passenger ship has been devoted to the relief effort in the wake of the hurricane in the Caribbean.

The ship was located in San Juan, which was devastated by the winds of Hurricane Maria and was diverted to St Croix and St Thomas to transport relief supplies before turning its attention to helping evacuees and tourists who had been stranded, to Fort Lauderdale. Overall the ship had 3,800 evacuees on board.

Adventure of the Seas is expected to return back to San Juan on October 6th, just in time for its cruised which was scheduled to leave on October 7th. All passengers which were due to be on board the cancelled sailing will be refunded and offered a 25% future cruise credit for any new cruises booked within the next 30 days.

The Royal Caribbean ship isn’t the first to help out in recent weeks, with many other cruise lines assisting with delivering supplies, such as Carnival Norwegian Cruise Line.
