Royal Princess To Head To Alaska in 2019

Princess Cruises has announced its 2019 Alaska season, and revealed that seven ships will be deployed, headlined by the debut of Royal Princess in the area.

The cruise line are celebrating 50 years in Alaska and have claimed they will be the ‘leader in Alaska for the 2019 season’. Royal Princess will be replacing Emerald Princess in Alaska, which is set to head to the Mediterranean for 2019, as part of the line’s biggest season in Europe to date.

The 3,600-passenger Royal Princess will be just one of seven ships that will be sailing Alaska between May to September 2019 though, and will be completing sailings from seven to twelve nights.

Ruby Princess will also be undertaking seven-night cruises, and will visit Glacier Bay National Park whilst seven-night cruises will also be available onboard Star Princess, calling at Tracy Arm Fjord.

For those looking for a slightly shorter option, there will be a couple of four-night sailings available onboard Golden Princess in Alaska, as well as a five-night sailing onboard Island Princess.

Ten-night sailings departing from San Francisco onboard Grand Princess will also be available, as well as twelve-night sailings onboard Coral Princess from Vancouver.

Jan Swartz, President of Princess Cruises, said: “Our upcoming 2019 Alaska season marks our 50th year taking guests to this bucket-list destination, that for most is a life-changing experience offering breathtaking scenery and awe-inspiring moments.”

He continued: “In 1969, Princess Italia was our first ship to bring 525 passengers to Alaska. In 2019, we will mark another milestone by bringing Royal Princess, our largest ship ever deployed to this region, with more than 3,500 guests.”
