Invited to board the SS Antoinette & River Ambassador for a day tour in Amsterdam, I was more than eager to hear all about the fine elegance and pristine joys offered by the River Cruise Line.
One of the trips on offer guided the travel agents to Keukenhof, the beautiful flower gardens. With reportedly fabulous weather, the budding blossoms welcomed the cruisers on their Uniworld trip on land.
Keukenhof is the best day out among the flowers. With more than 7 million bulbs in bloom this spring, and a total of 800 varieties of tulips. Besides the spacious 32 hectares of flowers, you can enjoy spectacular flower shows, surprising inspirational gardens, unique artwork and wonderful events.
When asked did Uniworld look after you, there was no hesitation, which was expected from an award winning ship fleet.
Gemma said: “We had a lovely coach transfer from the airport to the ships. We then learned a bit more about the rooms and facilities and were provided with a tour around both ships.
We were treated to a buffet lunch onboard; a delicious lasagne, roast pork, beef & horseradish. We also had wine, cheese & pretty deserts.
The service was great – everyone is so nice! All say hello when you walk by and the service in the restaurant was excellent. We got to speak to a butler from one of the suites and he was telling us about the service they offer the client’s – they even go as far as having a budget to buy the guests a personalised gift at the end of the cruise.”
Describing a River Cruise can be hard to put into words. Magic, splendour and awe are words that spring to mind, with a personal and intimate surrounding that connects you with your destinations.
“Uniworld is a luxury boutique style river cruise, excellent service & excellent food.” Gemma said. “The rooms are great and all decorated to a very high standard. The public areas are fantastic, all hosting grand décor. The trip we experienced was amazing and something I would definitely do again. Everything is included on the price, so you don’t have to worry about how much you’re spending, I would recommend this cruise line to anyone looking to experience a river cruise.”
