Agent Review Navigator of the Seas Amplified 2019

Member of the Month Miami & Navigator of the Seas (Amplified) December 2019

Wow what a way to finish off 2019. I was lucky enough to have won a Trip of a Lifetime with Royal Caribbean’s member of the month Competition.

It began with a 2 night stay at the Shelborne Hotel Miami South Beach, I had a huge double room to myself which could actually sleep 4 people. The hotel is set on the beach with a lovely dining area that leads out to the pool area so having breakfast Al Fresco was a nice option especially when it was so hot. There are plenty of Restaurants and Bars close by so you could grab a bite to eat or drink throughout your stay at pretty much anytime of the Day or Night. Lots of shopping to be done too on Collins Avenue and close by.

We were treated to an Everglades tour which was lots of fun but prepared to get wet!! We spotted a few Alligators along the banks and also had chance to hold a baby Alligator at the end of a talk with one of the Park experts.

On to Little Havana, we had the pleasure of doing a Food & Cultural Tour of Little Havana, enjoying Cuba coffee which is very sweet and only drank in small quantities like a shot, at 3.05 everyday it was declarde as Cuban coffee time where everyone stops and employers allow there staff to have a shot of Cuban coffee. They even have their area dialing code as 305 to signify this.  We had some tasty bites along the way, Pastries, Ice cream and also to finish off  a mojito at the Ball & Chain.

On to Navigator of the Seas…. Bahamas & Perfect Day at Coco Cay

Having not cruised before with Royal Caribbean I was excited to get on board and see what all the fuss was about and WOW I was not disappointed! Navigator of the Seas has recently been Royal Amplified and this ship looks like a brand New ship with all the latest technology on board. With touch screen information screens on every deck which gives you directions as to where you are on the ship and where you want to go which save a lot of time wondering around the ship not knowing which end is which… Along with the new dining Venues including Jamie’s Italian and Chops grill which were both Amazing and a must whilst on board, El Loco Fresh was one of my personnel favourites  to grab lunch before heading off to one of the New  Waterslides “The Blaster” on board. Lots of activities to keep everyone busy from young to not so young and everyone in between.  Fantastic Kids clubs, to Spa day offers, pub quizzes in Schooners Bar and grab a beer or two while watching a baseball or football game in Playmaker Sports Bar & Arcade.

Blue Lagoon Dolphin Bay… Dolphin Encounter

So off we set on our transfer which takes approx. 25 mins to the beautiful island of the Blue Lagoon. Once off the boat we find a sunbed which there are plenty and go and grab a cocktail before heading off into the clear blue waters of the lagoon before our Dolphin Encounter at 12.30. We had the chance to do a bit of paddle boarding and use the inflatables and have a swim in the cool blue waters.

We headed over to the dolphin encounter and put on our life jackets and were directed into the pool area. Once in the water we all got the opportunity to interact with the dolphins. First is the dolphin Kiss and they get right into your face with theirs. Then there is the Dolphin dance. You grab their fins and the dolphin will rise up and do a sort of tail dance. You also get the opportunity to feed them but watch out for seagulls. They will steal the fish right from out of your hands. The trainers are very friendly and make the whole experience very enjoyable. Lots of pictures were taken throughout and you get the chance to purchase at the end and a video is also available. It was much cheaper to buy the whole package and split the cost especially if there is a group of you.

Perfect Day at Coco Cay

Royal Caribbean has basically pulled out all the stops in their refurbishing of Coco Cay. Stepping off the Navigator of the Seas you can hear the Caribbean music playing as you are walking towards the Island. Flamenco dancers and a band greet you at the entrance putting you in the party mood before you have even stepped inside. Offering day beds, cabanas and a swim-up bar, as well as 13 waterslides, which we had the pleasure of experiencing although this does incur an extra charge. A 1,600-foot zip line, and a giant helium balloon, again this was at an extra charge but it was a great experience as I had never been up in a hot air balloon before and the views where amazing. The selection of craft markets located near the exit was quite enjoyable too in there little colourful huts. We grabbed lunch at the buffet, although there were places you could eat and pay a supplement too. If you had your All Inclusive Drinks Package on board this was transferred to the Islands so All drinks where FREE….You can also use the Wi-Fi if you have this package too…
My personal favourite at Coco Cay is the oasis lagoon complete with a swim up bar, padded footing and mosaic loungers immersed in the water around the pool area.

What a Perfect Day to finish off our cruise before spending a day at sea with a teeny weeny bit of work to do!!
