With Freedom of the Seas Royal Caribbean have let their imagination fly free! For the adventurous they designed a Rock Climbing Wall with eleven routes up and a central spire you can swing around; a spectacular FlowRider surf simulator where you can ride the surf high above sea level, and a boxing ring.
For those who like things a little more laid-back, Freedom of the Seas has cantilevered whirlpools stretching out over the ocean and a sumptuous spa. Families are in for an unforgettable time with their magical DreamWorks experience. Get up close and personal with all your favourite characters including Shrek, Fiona and Po (Kung Fu Panda).
Designed with larger families and groups in mind, accommodating up to 8. The largest cabins onboard, they offer priority boarding, dedicated entertainment seating and private concierge services. A private balcony with ocean views, sitting area with sofa bed, two twin or one king size bed, refrigerator or mini-bar, TV, telephone and private en-suite bathroom with bathtub.
For informal dining and snacks, you can enjoy authentic pizza at Sorrentos, burger and fries at 1950s diner Johnny Rockets, or indulge in a sweet treat at Ben & Jerry’s. If you fancy something more upmarket, try the fresh salmon or filet mignon at Chops Grille, or savour the intimacy of the Italian speciality restaurant, Portofino and sample the fine wines on offer at California Vineyards.
The Main Dining Room delivers attentive service and flexible dining options included in the price of your cruise. The Speciality Restaurants offer a range of different culinary experiences for a small extra charge.
Sweeping, multi-level ambience, world-class cuisine and extraordinary personal service from a dedicated wait staff. These main dining rooms serve exceptional, multi-course meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
A couple of times per cruise, red and white wine bottles, hand picked by experts will be presented by your waiter at a 30% discount. Discount not available for wines by the glass. Wine selection varies by ship and itinerary.
From dazzling theatre productions are thrilling ice shows, to live comedy and glitzy champagne bars, there's plenty to keep passengers entertained. Whether you want to enjoy the unbelievable views of The Viking Crown Lounge or try your luck in the exciting casino, there will never be a dull day onboard.
Enrichment programs, or ‘Explorer Academy’ classes cover a wide range of topics, including:

Royal Caribbean's signature rock climbing walls are their most popular feature and are available on all their cruise ships. Whether it’s your first time on a rock wall or you’re a seasoned climber, there are challenges for all levels of experience. They’ll provide all of the equipment, including shoes, helmets and harnesses. All you need to do is bring a pair of socks and, of course, your sense of adventure.
Loads of laughter and unforgettable experiences go hand-in-hand when cruising with Royal Caribbean. Games, events and activities are going on all over the ship throughout the day and into the evening hours, making family time a great time. And thanks to their Adventure Ocean youth program and the all-new DreamWorks Experience, children love their Royal Caribbean cruise vacation just as much as their parents.
The Royal Babies program (6-18 months) offers the tiniest guests and their parents interactive classes filled with enriching activities developed by early childhood experts at Fisher-Price®.
The Royal Tots program (ages 18-36 months) offers 45-minute interactive playground sessions filled with age-appropriate activities and toys. Both programs are hosted by trained youth staff. A parent or caregiver must accompany child during all activity sessions.
The Babies and Tots Nursery offers parents a drop-off option in the daytime and evening, where their children can be left in the trusting care of trained professionals. Various playgrounds have been created by Fisher-Price and Crayola for the young cruisers.
For a nominal fee, Sitters at Sea offers babysitting services, both in a group setting, and individually in parents' stateroom. Children must be at least 1 year old.
With the Adventure Ocean youth programs, not only will your children's time on board be fun, it will be educational too!
Aquanauts (ages 3-5 years) will have fun conducting cool experiments and becoming Certified Jr. Adventure Scientists.
The specially designed Explorers program (ages 6-8 years) is packed with exciting activities from themed parties to making gummy candies.
Voyagers (ages 9-11 years) will explore a range of activities that puts the "cool" back into learning.
Whether hanging out with other cruisers or checking out games, sports and parties are on your tween's agenda, the ship's teen-only spots are the places to go. The Teen program also allows older kids the freedom to come and go as they please. They'll love it so much the only thing you might wish for is a little more time with your kids.

Wheelchair accessible staterooms are available on request. These can include electric entrance doors and accessible shower facilities. Priority and assisted boarding is also available on request.
The ship has ramps and lifts on most decks, and hoists are available on request at certain pools and jacuzzis. Please note that passengers must provide their own wheelchairs/scooters or hire from an outside vendor.
Special meals can be provided on all ships, when requested in advance, however not all requests are guaranteed. Requests must be submitted no later than 60 days prior to sailing.
A wide range of vegetarian and gluten free meals are available onboard as standard.
There are three distinct types of evening on board: casual, smart casual and formal. Suggested guidelines for these nights are:
- Casual: Polo shirts and trousers for men, sundresses or trousers for women.
- Smart Casual: Jacket and shirt for men, dresses or trouser suits for women.
- Formal: Suits and ties or tuxedos for men, cocktail dresses or trouser suits for women.
There are however certain restaurants onboard which maintain a casual dress code throughout the cruise. On a typical 14 night cruise, 8 nights will be casual, 3 nights will be smart casual and 3 nights will be formal, however this depends upon individual cruise itineraries.
For sailings that depart from a port in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South America and Asia, the minimum age for purchase and consumption of alcohol is 18. , For any sailing which commences outside of the above stated areas, the minimum drinking age is 21. Therefore any ships departing from or calling at a port in North America the minimum drinking age will be 21.
Passengers who wish to use the spa, casino and adult nightclub must be 18 years or over. Those wishing to use the solarium and whirlpools must be 16 years or over. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult when attending the theatre.
Smoking is permitted in designated smoking areas, this includes electronic cigarettes / e-cigarettes.

Premium Drinks Package - from $55 per person per day (approx £35) - Includes: All house spirits with mixer and premium cocktails, beers (a selection of bottle, can and draft), premium wine by the glass (up to $12 value), frozen & non-alcoholic cocktails, fountain soda with souvenir cup, still bottled water (500ml).
Ultimate Drinks Package - from $65 per person per day (approx £40) - Virtually unlimited options. A combination of all the benefits from the Premium and Royal Replenish Packages.
Wine & Dine Package - from $99 per person (approx £60) - Wine enthusiasts can save up to 25% on standard list prices with a multi-bottle Wine Package. Choose from a renowned selection and enjoy your wine in the Main Dining Room, speciality restaurants or the Windjammer Café.
Evian Water Package - from $28.45 per person per day (approx £18.70). Stay perfectly refreshed with Evian 1 litre bottled water, available in quantities of 8, 12, 16 and 24 and delivered conveniently to staterooms, with savings up to 35% on individual bottles.
Juice Package - from $20.15 per person per day (approx £13.20) - Minute Maid bottled juice packages delivered to your stateroom. They're available in a variety of flavours and quantities (6, 8 and 12 bottles) for savings of up to 25% on individual bottles.
Please note: 15% gratuity is included in all package prices.
Recommended gratuities for guests in a Grand suite or above, is advised to be $14.25 per guest per day. For guests in a Junior suite or a Stateroom it is advised to be $12.00 per guest per day. A 15 % gratuity will automatically be added to bar bill or wine bills and for services in the Spa or Salon.
