Mid-sized Aurora is a worldclass ship, bringing the joys of classic cruise travel to all. With a skydome over her inviting Crystal Pool you’ll enjoy stylish surrounds whatever the weather. At her heart a 35 foot sculpture dominates the atrium while The Crow’s Nest offers panoramic views.
Aurora will enjoy a refit and refurbishment in April 2019 and will then move over to cater exclusively for adults; these changes will take effect from cruise R905 onwards.

The ship features speciality restaurants, grand main dining rooms and a host of café’s and snack bars. From elegant fine dining to self-service buffets, there’s a wide choice of flexible, casual and club dining options to suit everyone.

As the name of the restaurant suggests, its sumptuous décor draws inspiration from the culture, colours and shapes of ancient Egypt. Club Dining here is all about enjoying the convivial atmosphere and the company of your table companions.
Entering through the glass etched double doors you are greeted by an elegant and welcoming dining room. Carefully crafted dishes are brought to your table. And world-class cuisine rounds off a dining experience to be savoured in every sense.
Positioned midships on E Deck, Medina Restaurant is the Freedom Dining restaurant on Aurora.
Reflecting P&O Cruises traditional connections with North Africa and the Middle East, Medina was designed in a Moorish style, utilising brilliant colours and shapes from ages gone by to create a sophisticated look for today’s modern guest. Make your grand entrance for dinner on the featured double stairway, with its stunning backdrop of vibrantly coloured stained glass, as it sweeps down into the restaurant from the Promenade Deck. Seating over 500 people, you can find a romantic table for two or a party table for eight. With large windows on either side you’ll enjoy the magnificent views both day and night, as you dine on the Medina’s superb cuisine
Atul’s restaurant, Sindhu, will showcase an elegant fusion of Indian and British cuisine featuring sublime flavours.
P&O Cruises has a proud tradition of giving guests the very best – and they don’t come much better than Atul Kochhar. His Soft Shell Crab and Squid Salad in particular is sure to be a favourite. Guests will also be able to order from a lighter menu for a more informal bite to eat, or sample one of Atul’s exotic cocktails from the equally chic bar.
Fun and informal, The Beach House is a great option for families.
Located in the buffet restaurant during the evening, The Beach House offers great ocean views to go along with a casual menu of grills and seafood. When the sun is shining, there’s also the opportunity to sit outside on the terrace.
Located at the stern, high on Lido Deck, the Pennant Bar adds a taste of the tropics to Aurora.
This outdoor island bar overlooks the ship’s fabulous tiered decks and is the centre of many lunchtime activities, including themed lunches like the much loved and anticipated Neptune’s Buffet. In the evening it is the perfect location to watch the ship’s wake as it stretches out and winds its way into the sunset.
If you enjoy a glass of wine with your meal you’ll want to visit The Glass House.
On the venue’s signature menu, every course will come with the option of a different glass of wine, expertly matched by our expert, Olly Smith. With a handsomely stocked wine cellar and mouth-watering daytime and evening menus, The Glass House will be a relaxed, informal haven of good food and fine wine. What’s more, selected bottles will be available by the glass, so there’s no need to order the whole bottle to sample a particular vintage

P&O Cruises offers the very best in cruise entertainment. Days can be filled with as much or as little as you want, whilst evenings are no doubt the social highlight. When the sun goes down your ship begins to come alive with the hum of conversation and music, and you can be sure of a memorable night.
This fantastic cinema screens feature films and recent releases throughout the day and into the evening.
The Playhouse, is located midships on D Deck, next to the Photo Gallery. You can watch films that are so new, that they haven't yet reached your local cinema at home. There are 213 spacious and comfortable chairs and good visibility for everyone. In addition to films, The Playhouse is also the venue for classical recitals, lectures, port enhancement talks, and much more.
High up on Sun Deck at the forward end of the ship you will find The Crow's Nest.
At 105 feet above the waterline, this stylish cocktail bar is higher than the bridge and affords the ship's most amazing views.
By day you can watch the glistening sea as the world floats by in this comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. But as evening draws in The Crow's Nest comes into its own; with a light tickling of the ivories to set the mood, there's no better vantage point from which to enjoy a dramatic sunset at sea.
Nestled on Promenade Deck, is Champions sports bar.
With a modern look and high-tech feel, the bar is full of memorabilia from great sporting moments. You can watch major sporting events, both live and recorded, on large TV screens, and enjoy a beer and a chat with other sports-minded guests. If you're a sports fanatic - you'll love Champions!
This large single tier theatre on the promenade deck, offers a range of West End Style productions and cabaret shows. Seating 600 guest, it is decorated with rich tones of reds, blues and golds and features high tech sound and lighting systems to enhance the West-End style musical shows that take place on the 74ft wide stage.
Visiting guest acts such as comedians also perform in the theatre.
Traditional sofas, bookcases and panelled walls create a very British ambience and the feel of an exclusive country club.
You will find Anderson's on Promenade Deck. Welcoming and elegant and ideally located next to the Curzon Theatre, its refined setting is perfect for a pre-show drink or a warming nightcap. The bar is named after Arthur Anderson, the founder of P&O, who is said to have had an amazing attention to detail. So we certainly believe he would have approved of the long bar, the ornate fireplace and the traditional artworks.
This private party room is elegantly decorated with wood panelling and floor-to-ceiling windows.
At the forward end of Sun Deck, you'll find the Uganda Room which is furnished with comfortable seating and tables. It's the perfect venue to host your own special occasion, whether it be a birthday, anniversary or just a get together with newly met friends. We can also arrange for a selection of canapés and drinks for you, as well as a dedicated steward to serve your guests.
Dominated by John Mill's 35 foot sculpture, Aurora's Atrium is in a classic galleried style and spans four decks.
Reminiscent in style of the hugely influential artist René Lalique, the work provides an impressive backdrop to the stylish double main staircase. A veil of water surrounds the two mythical figures cast in resin. From this central hub and just a few steps away you'll find the shore excursions desk, Reception and Aurora's shops.
Palm Court is situated at the base of the four-deck Atrium on F Deck. The split stairs of the Atrium join at the base of the lalique-style sculpture and waterfall, creating a magnificent descent to the spacious Reception area.
The Monte Carlo Casino it a great place to continue a fun night out after post dinner drinks or a show. It is adorned with purple leather chairs around felt gaming tables, giving the casino a sumptuous, glamorous feel. In addition to the two roulette tables and three blackjack tables, passengers will find over 50 slot machines.
The name Raffles is synonymous with sophistication and elegance and the rich wood panelling.
Raffles Bar, situated on D Deck, overlooks Mayfair Court and Piccadilly Court on the deck below. Expect marble flooring and a luxurious leather padded bar, which exudes the grandeur and refinement of its namesake. As well as an array of tempting liqueurs, you can sample the most delicious handmade chocolates and specialist coffees throughout the day and into the evening.
Incorporating Raffles Bar on D Deck and wrapping around the top deck of the four-deck atrium, is Raffles Court.
A wonderful area to meet up with new friends for a mid-afternoon break or after dinner drink, the court offers lovely views of the atrium and its 35 foot centre-piece sculpture. Comfortable sofas and chairs, in conjunction with soft lighting, create a relaxing ambience. Raffles Court also offers access to Vanderbilt's card room and Sindhu.
The place to be seen on Aurora, Charlie's offers a cool place to relax.
Charlie's is midships on the port side of Promenade Deck, just off Mayfair Court. An elegant baby grand sets the mood in this stylish champagne bar, as tiny rock-crystal lenses on the ceiling create a glittering starry effect - the perfect complement the champagne sparkling in your glass. On a typical 14-night cruise aboard Aurora, 650 bottles of champagne are consumed and you can be sure a large percentage of these are enjoyed in Charlie's.

The ship's fantastic New Horizons programme offers to passengers the chance to leave their cruise with a new hobby, skill or passion. With classes ranging from cookery, and ballroom dancing, to feng shui and tai chi, passengers can search for true enlightenment.
There are coupled dance instructors onboard who offer a variety of dance lessons. The main types of dance offered are ballroom and Latin. As well a group lessons, it is also possible to arrange 1 to 1 tuition. On some occasions, there are celebrity dance instructors on board too. Everyone is welcome regardless of experience.
From the revitalising hydrotherapy pool, to the state of the art gymnasium, there's plenty of facilities onboard to refresh your mind, body and soul. Passengers can enjoy luxury massages and treatments in the Oasis Spa, or head out to the top deck sports court for a spot of tennis.
Passengers can watch the waves as they work out with all the latest equipment, including exercise bikes, rowing machines, running machines, steppers, resistance machines and a range of weights. After the workout, visitors can head to the Oasis Spa for a relaxing massage, a stimulating therapeutic treatment or a warming and cleansing sauna.
With superb ocean views and relaxing cream décor, the tranquil Oasis Spa is the perfect place to relax and be pampered. In the treatment rooms you can enjoy private ocean views as you succumb to a relaxing massage.
Also linked to the Oasis Spa is the hydrotherapy pool, which offers a hydromassage; a type of treatment that increases circulation, eases tension and aids restful sleep. Flooded with light via a pyramid skylight, the hydropool lies in the centre of several tiled columns. Alternatively passengers can head for Arcadia's thermal suite on the starboard side where they'll find three steam rooms, a sauna and a heated swimming pool.
Normally reserved for families and surrounded by children's rooms, Aurora's third pool was designed with safety in mind.
The Terrace Pool is situated at the stern of D Deck. There's a paddling pool for the small children and a jacuzzi and bar for the 'big children' and a lot of deck space and lounge chairs.
Located on A Deck and cleverly sheltered from the wind by the Lido and Sun Decks, you'll find the Riviera Pool.
At 29 feet long and 19 feet wide, it's the second largest pool on Aurora. The overflow from the pool forms a gentle waterfall, which runs down to the next level, where a tempting jacuzzi waits. The full-service Riviera Bar is conveniently close and overlooks the entire pool area, and sun worshippers will enjoy the three terraces full of deck chairs that surround the pool.
As a family friendly ship, Aurora offers a wide range of options for the whole family, including a variety of just-for-kids activities.
The Reef children’s club caters for all ages, combining fun with education and a whole host of activities organized daily by qualified Reef Rangers. Split into four age groups, children of all ages are entertained safely throughout the day and evening and to ensure that they have the chance to make friends of their own age.

‘Scubas’ for 9 – 12 year olds

A whole range of tours have been designed especially for families, meaning your time ashore will be as stress free as the rest of your holiday. With arranged transport, entrance fees and English speaking guides, all you need do is turn up and enjoy your time together. Typical family tours include: Beach transfers, Water park trips, Dolphin/ Whale watching, Adventure trips, Family city tours.
The Night Nursery, available on all family friendly ships for children aged between 6 months and 4 years of age, is open from 6pm to 2am nightly. Allocation is on a first come first served basis due to limited spaces available.
The latest time children may be checked in to the Night Nursery is 11pm. This service is complimentary.
A quiet area is created to enable an infant to sleep and parents are contacted via a pager, should their infant wake. Room temperatures and frequent checks are made and recorded.
Aurora has 8 beds and 6 cots.
Please note that they are unable to carry babies under the age of six months on any of the holidays and certain cruises have a minimum age requirement of 12 months.
The ship can cater for the following diets; vegetarian, low /no fat, low salt /no salt, lactose intolerant /dairy free, gluten /wheat free /celiac, low cholesterol, diabetic, kosher and vegan. Passengers requiring any of the above diets should contact the Customer Contact Centre prior to their cruise.
Fully accessible adapted cabins and suites are available, which are suitable for wheelchair / mobility scooter users. Passengers with a disability which may affect their mobility onboard are asked to inform the Customer Contact Centre prior to their cruise. Assisted embarkation and disembarkation is available when sailing from Southampton.
As with UK laws, the age limit for purchase and consumption of alcohol on board is 18 years of age, however, when in US waters, the age limit increases to 21.
Passengers must be over the age of 18 to use the spa facilities including treatments. If you are under the age of 18 and if you would like a treatment then you will need to be accompanied by an adult.
The ship operates three styles of dress code: Smart, Evening Casual and Black Tie.
On Smart evenings ladies typically wear tailored trousers and separates or even a stylish dress, while men are in a shirt and trousers with a jacket, such as a blazer or sports jacket, or a suit and tie if they wish. For a typical two week cruise there are normally four Smart evenings.
Stylish resort or leisurewear is ideal for Evening Casual nights, for example casual separates or dresses for ladies and open-neck polo shirts and casual trousers (not shorts) for men. A jacket and smart trousers can be worn but are not compulsory. Smart dark denim is also fine, but not trainers, football shirts or tracksuits. For a typical two week cruise on Azura, Britannia, Oceana or Ventura there are normally ten Evening Casual nights. On Adonia, Arcadia, Aurora and Oriana there are normally six Evening Casual nights.
Black Tie nights (also known as Gala Evenings)add a touch of glamour and a real sense of occasion to evenings at sea. Ladies wear glamorous evening wear including cocktail dresses, ball gowns or even smart trouser suits. For men, dinner jackets or tuxedos are the norm, but a dark lounge or business suit and tie can be worn as an alternative. For a typical two week cruise there are normally four Black Tie evenings on board.
During the day casual shirts, shorts, trousers and beachwear are ideal.
There are dedicated areas onboard where smoking is permitted. Smoking is not permitted in any public room, inside cabin or on cabin balconies.

Electronic cigarettes, including those which do not emit smoke, are not permitted in public areas but can be used in cabins, balconies and designated areas of the open deck.
A discretionary service charge of £3.95 per passenger per day is added to shipboard accounts.
