Update: 25/08/2020

After very careful consideration we do not feel it would be sensible to start sailing again this year. We will only resume sailing when it is safe to do so, when we have the approval and accreditation for our enhanced health protocols and when we are confident that our guests can travel freely to the destinations we visit. We are therefore extending our pause in operations through to 25 March 2021 for Queen Elizabeth, 18 April 2021for Queen Mary 2 and 16 May 2021 for Queen Victoria. This includes cancelling our 2020/21 Australian homeport season.

We have been assessing future itineraries and whether any should be replaced by some of the more popular voyages that have been impacted. We have taken the decision to cancel voyages on Queen Mary 2 departing between 3 January 2022 and 3 April 2022, including the 71-night escape to the Caribbean and South America, our Norway and Northern Lights voyage and some Transatlantic Crossings.

The cancellation of these 2022 Queen Mary 2 voyages enables us to operate her most popular World Voyage from Southampton to Australia, via the Suez Canal. This is based on Queen Mary 2’s disrupted itinerary from this year as well as the now cancelled equivalent that was due to sail in 2021.

With Queen Elizabeth having returned to the UK during the pause, and with ongoing uncertainty over the re-opening of ports and countries on her intended routes next year, it is sadly not practical to continue as planned. We are therefore cancelling Queen Elizabeth’s voyages due to depart between 26 March 2021 and 13 December 2021. Queen Elizabeth will embark on a series of European voyages ranging from three to 14 nights from the end of March 2021.

Update: 09/06/2020

Cunard extends pause in operations, up to and including 1 November 2020 (Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria) and up to and including 23 November 2020 (Queen Elizabeth).

Whilst we have recently started to see some travel restrictions easing across the globe, it is sadly still looking like there may be many months of uncertainty ahead. With different countries currently applying varying regulations, for Cunard, this has a big impact because we celebrate having a truly international mix of guests and we sail all over the world.

All guests booked on a retail fare up to and including 1 November 2020 (Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria) and up to and including 23 November 2020 (Queen Elizabeth) will receive a 125% FCC. FCCs can now be redeemed against any new booking made by end December 2021, on any voyage that’s on sale at the time of booking. As a reminder, in addition to using an FCC for a new booking, you can also use their FCC to upgrade an existing booking (fare type or accommodation grade) or to add a second stateroom to your existing booking.

Guests who would prefer a 100% cash refund should fill out the form, a link to which has been emailed directly to you (where we hold a valid email address).  Guests have until 30 November 2020 to request a refund. Due to the extraordinary circumstances associated with Covid-19 refunds may take up to 60 days. Refunds will be paid directly back to you either by card (if they paid us directly) or by cheque.

Update: 23/04/2020

Since we originally announced our pause in operations, the Covid-19 situation has evolved further still.  Many governments around the world have implemented increasingly strict and decisive measures to ensure the safety of their citizens.

We are therefore extending our pause in operations for all sailings on Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria departing up to and including 31 July 2020. For Queen Elizabeth, we are taking the decision to cancel her entire Alaska season and all departures up to and including the 8 September 2020.

All guests with a voyage due to sail during the suspension period (from 16 March up to and including 31 July 2020 for Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria or from 16 March up to and including 8 September 2020 for Queen Elizabeth) will receive a 125% Future Cruise Credit (FCC). FCCs may be used on new bookings for any holiday up to the end of March 2022, with bookings to be made before the end of December 2021.

Update 30/03/2020

In light of the recent government announcements it is clear that the original date of 11 April to resume sailings, is not feasible. Regrettably, therefore, we are now extending this pause to all sailings up to and including 15 May 2020.

As we work through the evolving guidelines and restrictions in ports of call around the world, future itineraries may be subject to change and we are looking at how we phase our ships back into service.

COVID-19 – Keeping you updated.

At Cunard we take your well being very seriously. And although the risk to our guests and crew is low, we recognise the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) situation is potentially unsettling. Rest assured that across the company, our experts are working closely with the World Health Organization (WHO), US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Public Health England to ensure you can still enjoy the holiday you deserve.

Cunard voluntarily suspends operations until 11 April.

As a result of the continued impact of COVID-19, and following the recommendation by the Cruise Lines International Association for cruise lines to voluntarily and temporarily suspend operations from U.S. ports for 30 days, Cunard is suspending any new cruises until 11 April, 2020.

Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria will be returning to Southampton, with no new voyages and no new guests or crew embarking. Queen Elizabeth’s itineraries have been suspended whilst she is in Australia.

We will continue to constantly monitor the evolving situation over the coming weeks and, as ever, our priority in any decisions we make will be to protect the health and wellbeing of our guests and crew.

If you have a Cunard voyage booked that was due to depart prior to 11 April 2020, we’re very sorry to have to cancel your plans. We are pleased to offer you a 125% Future Cruise Credit to be used for a new future cruise sailing any time before the end of March 2022 – simply book by 31 December 2021.

As you can appreciate our Customer Contact Centre is dealing with an unprecedented volume of calls and we’re having to prioritise in order of departure date. Please bear with us and do visit our social media channels and website where we’ll post the latest updates and where you should find all the answers you’re looking for.

As and when life returns to normal, we look forward to welcoming you on board in the future and ensuring you experience the very best from Cunard and the voyage you’ve longed for. In the meantime, please take care.
