Vision Cruise targets new to cruise customers with Amazon tie-in

Vision Cruise claims to have become the first cruise travel company to float content compatible with Amazon’s personal assistant Alexa.

The business has launched an Alexa “skill” which launches its Vision Cruise TV using just four words – “play Vision Cruise TV”.

The command is compatible with Amazon Fire TV stick, Amazon Echo Show or Echo Spot and provides instant access to Vision Cruise’s latest deals.

John Cooper, Vision Cruise brand director, said: “This is just the first of many initiatives we have lined up to bring our Cruise TV offerings to a much wider audience.

“People are changing the way they watch TV, and this is about keeping up to date with peoples lifestyles, and attracting a younger and new to cruise demographic.”

Vision Cruise will be giving away Amazon Fire sticks as part of its Black Friday promotions.

Anyone wishing to check out the channel should just say the four-word command.

Andrew Runacres, Vision Cruise managing director, added the move was part of its aim to place cruising as a holiday option in front of as many people as possible.

“TV pictures tell and sell a story of just what great value a cruise holiday is, enticing new to cruise customers to try this type of holiday for the first time,” he said. “As we know, once they start to cruise, they usually never stop.

“In the coming weeks and months, we will be revealing other new and exciting ways we will be attracting new to cruise customers to our brand.”

Vision Cruise TV is available on Sky channel 191, through the Vision Cruise website, via Facebook Live every night from 5pm and on its 24-hour YouTube channel.
