‘Venture to the four corners of the world’ on Fred. Olsen

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is inviting guests to ‘turn their dreams into reality’ on two outstanding longer-voyage adventures in 2018/19: Black Watch’s 107-night ‘Around the World with Sydney at New Year’ sailing in November 2018; and Boudicca’s 168-night ‘Grand Voyage’ in October 2019, set to be the longest, most extensive sailing ever undertaken in Fred. Olsen’s history.

Both of these epic cruises feature in Fred. Olsen’s new Venture to the four corners of the world’ brochure, designed to whet the appetite of even the most seasoned travellers.

Justin Stanton, Sales and Marketing Director for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said:

“While we are proud of every cruise in the Fred. Olsen programme, there is no disputing that voyages of this nature, which take in such a wealth of unforgettable sites and sights, are among the pinnacle of sailing experiences.

“Once on board, the feeling of camaraderie is unrivalled, as you sail in the knowledge that your fellow travellers, like you, are indulging in an incredible, ‘once-in- a-lifetime’ holiday.”

Guests booking Black Watch’s ‘World Cruise’, consisting of 107 nights in November 2018, will get the chance to take in countless iconic landmarks, astonishing man-made and natural wonders, awe-inspiring cultures, energetic cities, idyllic islands, diverse wildlife and fascinating ancient settlements lost in time.

There are stunning ports of call in the Americas, including sun-kissed Caribbean islands; Colombia’s UNESCO-listed ‘walled city’ of Cartagena de Indias, a delight to explore, with its fine centuries-old architecture; and charming Puntarenas in Costa Rica.

Enjoy a journey along the magnificent Panama Canal, before sailing to ‘The Land Down Under’ via spectacular South Pacific Islands. Marvel at the unspoilt volcanic landscapes and crystal-clear lagoons of Nuku Hiva and Rangiroa; sample pure bliss on Tahiti, Bora-Bora and Tonga; and revel in the unspoilt beauty of Mystery Island, with a magical Christmas Day at sea in between.

In Australia, the extended stay in Sydney has been carefully timed to offer guests the chance to celebrate New Year in a truly unforgettable way, watching in the world-famous fireworks light up the midnight sky above the Harbour Bridge.

On the Asian leg of this global odyssey, guests can experience the contrast between Indonesia’s Komodo Island – the untouched natural habitat of the world’s largest lizard – and Singapore, a striking modern metropolis of soaring skyscrapers, busy commercial districts and impressive temples.

The adventure does not stop there; calls into stunning Indian cities follow, including an overnight stay in Mumbai and memorable stops in stunning Arabia, offering chances to marvel at the sight of the Burj Khalifa – the world’s tallest building – in glamourous Dubai. Guests can also uncover the ‘Lost Cities’ of Ubar and Petra – one of the ‘Seven Wonders of the Modern World’ – from Salalah, Oman and Aqaba, Jordan.

Join Boudicca’s remarkable 168-night adventure in Autumn 2019 and marvel at a handpicked selection of the world’s most spectacular islands; legendary icons of incredible cities; cultural and spiritual sites; locations steeped in history; a diverse array of amazing wildlife; and awe-inspiring natural wonders.

Paradise displays its many facets in Indonesia and on the islands of Andaman and the Indian Ocean – all of which present chances to indulge in gorgeous sunshine and spellbinding settings. Some of the best beaches on the planet can be found in the Seychelles: Anse Lazio is one of the most popular. The Ubud rice terraces are the statement scene in beautiful and diverse Bali, while for lesser-known gems, Lombok and Java are home to incredible volcanic landscapes. For more exotic wildlife, then a call into Komodo Island is a ‘must’, as the natural habitat of the fearsome giant lizards.

There are chances to take a wander in Madagascar, famed for its lemurs, chameleons and geckos; to tick off the breath-taking Great Barrier Reef and Kangaroo Island, home to wild kangaroos, wallabies and koalas, in Australia; and to discover Moyenne Island, a breeding ground for giant land tortoises.

In South Africa, seek-out the ‘Big Five’ game on unmissable safari adventures during stops at Port Elizabeth and Richards Bay; and see the penguins of Boulders Beach on tour from Cape Town, where magnificent Table Mountain is a sight to behold.
