All Emerald Staterooms feature picture windows and the same high quality facilities as all other cabins. Plus, they’re bigger than other standard staterooms.
The Emerald Radiance will explore Portugal’s Douro region, navigating the eponymous river Douro. Dissecting some of Europe’s most beautiful vineyards and wine-producing villages, the river Douro evocatively stretches through beautiful backdrops on either bank. Fittingly, the bespoke Emerald Radiance has been lovingly designed and built to complement the jaw-dropping scenery unfolding before the ship’s bow.
On an Emerald Waterways river cruise, you can expect great dining experiences from start to finish. Each of the cruises begins with a Welcome Dinner where you’ll meet other guests, and ends with a Farewell Dinner where you can share memories with new-found friends. Their experienced chefs take great pride in preparing dishes of the highest quality and ensuring their menus showcase the fantastic cuisine Europe has to offer. Every day, you’ll enjoy a hot and cold buffet for breakfast and lunch with an array of appetisers, main course choices and a collection of sweet treats at the dessert table. In the evenings, they invite you to be their special guest at a four-course dinner serving delicious international and regional speciality dishes.
Having an amazing holiday can be thirsty work, so remember that complimentary tea and coffee are available at all times throughout your cruise. To accompany lunch and dinner, they’ve carefully chosen a special selection of European red and white wines, local beers and soft drinks for you to enjoy with your meal – all of which are included in the price of your holiday.
To complement the high quality dining onboard the ships, they also offer authentic dining experiences off the ship to give you a deeper insight into your destination’s culture. For example, in Bratislava, you’ll have a truly rewarding opportunity to taste traditional fare, and learn more about everyday life in the city during a home-hosted afternoon tea in the company of a local Slovakian family.
Reflections is our ship’s main restaurant, offering an informal setting for you to enjoy our delightful cuisine. Every day, you can enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast or for something a little more special, take advantage of our resident Egg Chef’s fabulous selection of freshly prepared morning meals. At lunch, you can choose whatever takes your fancy from a full hot and cold buffet. And in the evenings, you’ll enjoy a delectable four-course dinner.
When the weather’s fine, The Terrace – located at the bow of the ship – offers a beautiful setting to enjoy alfresco dining. For the perfect start to your day, you can watch the sun rise with your morning tea or coffee and light breakfast. With panoramic views of the spectacular scenery and a gentle breeze weaving through the tables, The Terrace is also a lovely place to grab a café-style lunch from a choice of pastas, pizzas, soups, sandwiches and fish and chips.

Each evening before dinner, your Cruise Director welcomes you to the Horizon Bar and Lounge for an informal yet fascinating talk on your forthcoming ports of call. With tips on what you'll see and things to look out for, this is an ideal opportunity to plan for the day ahead. When the evening arrives, we have a medley of entertainment planned especially for you.
Emerald Waterways welcomes disabled guests but wishes all guests to understand that limitations could exist on-board and during shore excursions. The lifts on the ships service three out of four decks, with access to the Sun Deck only possible using stairs. Under appropriate circumstances guests are welcome to use collapsible wheelchairs on-board. Many tours are conducted from coaches,so guests need to be able to climb up and down the stairs to board. Some shore excursions may require movement over cobblestones or up and down stairs;accordingly, guests with limited mobility will require the services of a responsible companion to be travelling with them, since crew availability is limited. If you have any medical, physical or other special needs, please contact the travel advisors for further information and have a look at the deck plan to gain an understanding of the layout of any particular ship. On occasion they will be required to dock next to other ships, which may mean accessing the shore via the Sun Deck, requiring you to ascend and descend stairs.
We recommend casual and comfortable clothing - for sightseeing and walking tours you’ll need comfortable shoes. For the winter months, you’ll need a warm coat, gloves and water-resistant footwear. Dinner is an informal affair; relaxed evening wear is perfect. On certain evenings such as the Welcome and Farewell Dinners, you might like to dress up.
Travellers who are less than 21 years old on the departure date must be accompanied by and share a cabin/room with an adult aged 21 or over. Children under 12 years of age are not accepted. This is a condition of carriers and cruise operators.
