Featuring a variety of casual dining options like Chef’s Choice, Salad Bar, Carnival Deli and more, the Lido Restaurant has something — or more likely, at least a few ‘somethings’ — to satisfy your craving. With plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and food options for everyone, you can enjoy your personal favourites, while dining in the company of family and friends. It’s also where you can find our Pizza Pirate pizza station and Swirls ice cream spots… both open 24 hours a day, which ought to be enough for anybody.

DINING ROOM

The Carnival Cruise Empire dining room offers an elegant and relaxing setting in which to enjoy a full three course menu! It’s an experience that’s filling, but never stuffy — you’re just as likely to catch waiters table-dancing as you are to order dessert. Dessert’s included — along with the rest of your meal, by the way — in your fare. But don’t skip straight to dessert, because the main course is the main attraction; drop in daily and enjoy a rotating menu of delectable favourites, including steak, seafood and prime rib.

SEADAY BRUNCH

Forget what “they” say — the most important meal of the day is brunch. Slumberers can sleep in and still enjoy breakfast favourites, while early-risers get a head-start on lunch. And Seaday Brunch brings everybody’s favourite mid-morning meal to your Carnival cruise, and does it right. You’ll enjoy special french toast, loaded mac-n-cheese… and yes, more ways to cook eggs than we even thought was possible. Chow down and fuel up — you’ve got lots of exploring to do, across the ship, for the rest of the day.

KIDS’ MENUS

Our kids’ menus, available at most onboard dining venues, feature foods that are delicious enough — and fun enough — to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. We’ve got all the familiar options they love at home, like spaghetti and meatballs, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, mac-n-cheese, peanut butter and jam sandwiches and — yes mum — fresh fruit and veggies. They should save room for dessert, though, because with sweet stuff like banana splits and chocolate brownies, your young’uns are going to be pretty excited. There’s even 24-hour pizza and ice cream… but these are subject to bed-time, of course.

SWIRLS

Got room for dessert? Sure you do! Swirls ice cream lets you enjoy the sweeter side of brain freeze with a treat that’ll have you smiling from ear to ear. Choose from chocolate, vanilla or strawberry… or make your own mix swirled as high as you can balance it. Open on Lido deck 24/7, our soft-serve ice cream and frozen yoghurt is a great way to beat the heat all day, or the perfect night-time treat after a long evening of fun.

THE CHEF’S TABLE

Treat your taste buds to the experience of a lifetime, culminating in a sumptuous multicourse dinner hosted by one of our master chefs. Your VIP experience starts with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres for a select group of 12, followed by a tour to see the galley in operation. The evening concludes with a mind-blowing full-service dinner of amazing appetisers, entrees and desserts not found on our regular dining menus.

Tip: Reserve early because this once-in-a-lifetime experience has limited seating. Reservations can be made at the ship’s Nouveau Restaurant.

Alternatively you can book a space at the Chef’s Table before you depart for your cruise by emailing Carnival Spirit or Carnival Splendor and providing your sailing date, booking number, your name, and the names of those attending.

NOUVEAU RESTAURANT

Enjoy the finest aged beef, cut, weighed and char-grilled to your exact specifications. In addition to mouth-watering steaks, a variety of other delectable main courses — like double-cut lamb chops, lobster tail and grilled fish fillet — are available.

The intimate atmosphere and extensive menu includes 17 gourmet entrées, salads, soups and side dishes. These do more than delight; they complement the season’s freshest produce and the best wine lists, and are handpicked by our chefs to perfectly match the wide-ranging cuisine.

COFFEE BAR

Why not treat yourself to a latté, macchiato, cappuccino or whichever coffee takes your fancy, as our onboard baristas, professionally trained in Aussie coffee brewing techniques, serve up your favourites. Selections of teas are also available; savour the aroma and have a delicious homemade pastry on the side or, for an even sweeter option, stop by for a milkshake, slice of cake or biscuit.

GUY’S BURGER JOINT

We went looking for someone to help us grill up the best burgers at sea, and we found just the guy. Carnival has teamed up with best-selling American author, restaurateur and Food Network personality Guy Fieri, to bring all the authentic appeal of a roadside burger shack to Guy’s Burger Joint, the cool poolside spot for hot burgers and hand-cut fries. Try a fresh-off-the-grill burger Guy’s way, or take it off-road to our toppings bar and truly make it your own.

PIZZA PIRATE

Tossing dough is an age-old art passed down the generations. Lucky for you, someone passed us the secret to the perfect pizza. While aboard, this is the place that will shiver your timbers and warm you to the bone, 24 hours a day, with a Margherita, Funghi, Hawaiian, Pepperoni or Quattro Formaggi pizza. Savvy? Then it’s the pirate’s life for you!

Check out Bonsai Sushi, the next generation onboard seafood-and-soy-sauce spot. BLUEIGUANA CANTINA

Nobody knows Mexican dining like a blue iguana. Well, our blue iguana, at least. That’s why it should come as no surprise that the BlueIguana Cantina features freshly made tacos and burritos stuffed specially for your enjoyment. Throw our homemade tortillas and salsa into the mix, and you have a casual dining experience that will make you say “mmmm” (which is actually Iguanese for “more, please”).

We’ve taken the best parts and brought them poolside with the RedFrog Rum Bar, where the frog keeps the fun hopping day and night with all the island flava you know and love. Then join the sing-along for a hand-clapping, foot-tapping, finger-snapping good time. Don’t feel like flexing your vocal cords? No worries. Shy songbirds are welcome here, too. And since it’s open from early evening to late at night, it’s the perfect spot for a before-dinner drink or singing ’til the wee hours of the evening.

Why let the ladies have all the fun to themselves at the spa? Razor-close barbershop-style shaves add a touch of manliness to the spa experience , and speaking of the barber, a cruise is a great time to rock a whole new hairstyle, a quick grey-hair darkening, or even just a fresh trim. And why not go for a little extra relaxation with a massage or even a facial while you’re at it?

JOGGING TRACK

Jogging may not immediately come to mind when you think of things to do at sea, but it probably should. You don’t have to walk on water, you just have to get on a Carnival cruise. After all, if you’re going to jog, you’d be hard-pressed to find a place to do it with a more scenic view, or a more refreshing breeze — both of these are available in abundance when you go for an open-air jog on the upper-deck. Jogging tracks are available on all Carnival ships, and are even padded for long-distance comfort.

A trip to the salon is an opportunity to relax, to chat with others, to focus on you. Even though you’re on holidays, you won’t have to settle for anything less than the salon style you’re used to back on land. We have some bad news for you — your ship has a gym. In other words, there’s no excuse for leaving your fitness routine back on land. That’s great news, however, for your body, which will definitely benefit from all the extra energy that a rejuvenating cruise is sure to generate. BUILD-A-BEAR WORKSHOP AT SEA

A Carnival cruise gives kids plenty of chances to make new friends… but never before quite like this. When kids visit the Build-A-Bear Workshop at Sea, they use their small hands and big creativity to bring a new stuffed friend to life. They can customise theirs from head to toe by choosing the clothing and accessories, and even give their new friend a voice and message of its own by integrating a customisable voice chip. The cuddly bears are just the beginning — these stuffed friends come in all shapes, like a monkey, sea turtle, dog, bunny… and the cutest shark imaginable. There’s even a bear with a special Carnival-exclusive design!

CAMP OCEAN

When families cruise Carnival, even the smallest fish in the pond have a big, awesome time. Okay, so it’s actually way more than just a pond — it’s Camp Ocean. At Camp Ocean, 2–11 year-olds stay busy, keep active and have fun as they enjoy all new ocean-themed activities and entertainment made for kids. We put campers into supervised, age-based groups and give each a cool marine-life label that’s sure to raise the sails on camaraderie at sea. The littlest little ones — ages 2 to 5 —join the Penguin colony and engage in activities like Musical Icebergs and Ocean Bingo… even learning a thing or two about buoyancy! The little-biggers, 6 to 8, are the way-cool Stingrays, who might be found enjoying Pirate Game Night, making sea salt art or even designing their own aquarium. The big fish are the Sharks — ages 9 to 11 — who really sink their teeth into playing Marine Life Trivia, creating a giant ocean mural, and scoring big with sea-themed volleyball or soccer. Our counselors, each with education or childcare experience, are there to make sure everyone in these small groups has an amazing time.

Since photos are a big part of how you and your crew will remember your cruise, you can rely on Carnival’s photo-pros to bring your fun side into focus — lighting and background, shutter speed and aperture know-how goes into every shot they take. You’ll find our pros all over the ship: when you’re gathered around the dining room table, as you step off the ship at your destination… and plenty of times in between. Learn to cook, Steakhouse-style from our team of chefs as they demonstrate the tricks of the trade. We take the joy of cooking and transform it into a delightful hour-long presentation of kitchen skill and ingenuity… where taste tests are always included. Tip: This fun-for-the-whole-family event fills up fast, so get there early.

ART AUCTIONS

If a room full of overly serious old men, many wearing monocles, paying top-dollar for priceless antique works of art is your perception of an “art auction”, then think again! Unlike a stodgy auction house, your vacation features a series of auction events designed to turn fine art into fine fun. From the rapid-fire ‘Lightning’ action to the cheap thrills of the ‘under $500’ event, there are plenty of chances to try your hand at bringing home something great and have a blast doing it. Unlike land auctions, we even hold fun interactive events like the “Guess the Price” competition. That said, our onboard auctions aren’t entirely without fancy trimmings — after all, what’s an auction without free-flowing champagne?

ART EXHIBITIONS

If you have an eye for art and fancy a cultural component to your cruise, we have that covered with a series of events celebrating some exceptional works. Take part in an art-themed battle of the sexes or check out showcases highlighting different artists. You can’t get any closer to great art… without buying it.

Go from ‘normal holidaymaker to ‘globe trotting art expert’ in one cruise flat — Carnival offers such a variety of educational and enlightening seminars with an ‘Art 101’ lecture series designed to be your entrance into this vibrant world. We’ll go from the earliest cave paintings to the modern masters — with stops at topics like the Renaissance, Baroque, Surrealism and Pop Art — and cover both theory and technique. You’ll walk away with a spectrum of knowledge to use at your next art auction… or to elevate your cocktail party chatter.

LIBRARY

With wall-to-wall activities on offer, most people wouldn’t consider their cruise as a great time to read a book, but you’ll find the bibliophilic faithful stretched out on deck chairs, enjoying the sun, sea breeze… and a page-turner. Forgot to bring a book? E-reader battery just died? Every Carnival ship features an onboard library stocked with the good stuff. For the silent types, it’s a great place to read, but if the roar of the ocean is more your soundtrack, the library is a great place to find a good read to devour, al fresco.

SPECIAL DIETS

Carnival can provide our guests with meals suited to the following special dietary needs: vegetarian, low-cholesterol, low-fat, low-carbohydrates, low-sugar, and gluten free. Our chefs will make every effort to fulfill your requests, and will gladly prepare freshly-made options that meet your dietary needs. Once on board, we ask you speak with the headwaiter or dining room host in advance, so they can assist in planning your daily meals in the dining room. This will allow us the necessary time to prepare foods, as requested, in a timely manner.

Gluten-free pizza dough, pasta, bread for deli sandwiches, and hamburgers buns, as well as cake are available upon request. Plus, our frozen desserts and yogurt are gluten-free. All items are freshly prepared and may take a little longer than regular menu items. Gluten-free beer, Estrella Daura, is available for your enjoyment.

We also provide prepackaged kosher meals. If you’re requesting kosher meals, you must let us know two weeks advance of your cruise.

Guests who require a different dining time than they chose when booking can change once on board the ship. Guests will be accommodated on a first come, first served basis.
