We know that the pool is one of the most important facilities for customers whilst on holiday. That’s why when cruising, many ships offer more than one pool and a variety of water activities. Here is a short guide listing the water and swimming facilities included on some of the most popular cruise lines.

Royal Caribbean International – Royal Caribbean ships are complete with water-parks, slides and rides. Each ship has at least one sports pool, one beach pool and a H20 Water Park. There also might be a few Jacuzzi’s on-board.

P&O Cruises – P&O ships have at least two pools ranging from both indoor and outdoor pools. They also have plenty of Jacuzzi’s if you want to relax, and shallow pools designed for P&O’s younger passengers.

Celebrity Cruises – Celebrity cruises have pool butlers, towels, whirlpools and hot tubs alongside a minimum of two large pools. There aren’t any water park facilities, however, pool volleyball is available if you sign up after boarding the ship.

Norwegian Cruise Line – Norwegian Cruise Line usually have a deck dedicated to their pools – with either one large pool or two smaller ones. On-board there is also an AquaPark which has two swimming pool, five water slides and four hot tubs.

Carnival Cruises – Carnival has its very own on-board water park, WaterWorks. Each ship has a Twister water slide, and some also have racing slides and Speedway Splash. Another one of Carnivals slides is the DrainPipe, which is great fun for all the family. PowerDrencher is the one to go for if you love the water. All of the water park fun tends to appeal to kids more than adults, so there are also main-deck pools and some ships come with whirlpools.

Fred Olsen Cruise Lines – Each Fred Olsen ship has two swimming pools for its passengers. Balmoral also has two Jacuzzi’s on each deck, whilst the Braemar also has a paddling pool. Boudicca has two Jacuzzi’s, an exercise pool and a small pool. Black Watch also has two Jacuzzi’s, an exercise pool and a smaller pool.

MSC Cruises – MSC ships have at least one pool on-board, with the Fantasia having four different pools and 12 hydro-massage pools. The Magnifica has three swimming pools, one with a retractable roof.

Princess Cruises – Each Princess ship has at least two large pools, and a few whirlpool spas. The Island Princess ship has three pools, a kid’s splash pool and five whirlpool spas. Whereas the Grand Princess has four large pools, a splash pool and eight whirlpool spas. When it comes to water facilities, the bigger the ship the better!
