Accessibility onboard is very important to all cruise lines – which is why most ships have accessible bathrooms onboard. Take a look below to find out exactly what each cruise line offers when it comes to accessible bathrooms.
Royal Caribbean – If you book an accessible cabin, your bathroom will also be accessible. They include handrails, shower rails, lowered sinks, a vanity mirror, shower seat and grab bars – making them accessible whatever the need. You are able to roll into the shower or use a ramped bathroom threshold to get in as well. Raised toilet seats are available upon request. Assistance is available in the public bathrooms through contacting reception.
Celebrity Cruises – Assistance is available upon request at Reception. Celebrity offer the same level of accessibility in their Cabins as Royal Caribbean.
Norwegian Cruise Line – Accessible cabins onboard NCL have wheelchair accessible bathrooms. They have hand rails, grabs bars, shower seats and lowered sinks to make everything easier for passengers requiring accessible features. There is an onboard accessibility coordinator who can be contacted with any queries about accessibility onboard the ship.
Carnival Cruises – Accessible cabins have bathrooms with a series of rails in order to aid mobility. Other equipment such as shower stools and lowered sinks are available upon request. There are bathrooms tailored for accessible passengers on certain decks onboard Carnival ships.
Fred Olsen – Accessible cabins with accessible bathrooms are available onboard. They are fitted with handrails and a fixed seat in the shower.
MSC Cruises – MSC’s accessible cabins have a bathroom which is easy to move around using the rails and bars. There are additional facilities in the accessible cabins depending on what ship you are sailing on. There aren’t any bathrooms on deck that are specifically accessible, however assistance can be provided.
Princess Cruises – Accessible bathrooms are fitted with rails to help when using the WC and shower. If passengers require other facilities, this must be made aware at the time of booking.
P&O Cruises – Wet room style cabins are available in accessible cabins. There are grab rails for the shower and toilet, as well as a fixed or pull down shower chair.
